Whiplash Injury Claims

Whiplash is a very common car accident injury which is caused from a high speed jerk or impact.  If your car is stationary and another car rams into the back of your car, the impact t throws your head and neck forwards then backwards very quickly and this is the classic cause of whiplash.

The word whiplash is a non-medical term used to describe neck pain resulting from an injury to the soft tissues of the neck, ligaments, tendons and muscles.  Many people who are involved in rear end collision experience whiplash or the symptoms of whiplash.

If you have suffered whiplash due to a car accident whether you were the driver or the passenger you could be entitled to compensation damages.

Some of your symptoms could be:

Neck pain or stiffness Headache
Pain between the shoulder blades Low back pain
Pain in arms or legs Nausea
Feet and hands Ringing in ears
Headache Vertigo
Low back pain Numbness and tingling
Nausea Dizziness or balance problems
Ringing in ears Pain around the face and jaw
Difficulty swallowing Blurred vision

How to treat Whiplash

Whiplash is treatable and in most cases completely resolve.  You should seek medical health care if you are suffering from any whiplash symptoms.  You will probably be prescribed anti-inflammatory medication and Physical Therapy might also be advised.  A cervical collar will need to be worn for a couple of weeks. Heat therapy can relived muscle tensions and pain also muscle relaxants could also be beneficial.

If your symptoms have not eased after 6 to 8 weeks, you will be required to take x-rays and other diagnostic testing may be necessary.  You might have suffered a more severe injury like damage to the intervertebral discs in which case you will need to have surgery.
